	Harvard Trestle Table (Previous | Next)   This table, made by the Harvard Shakers about 1830, seems to float effortlessly over delicately turned columns and gracefully arched feet. This sense of lightness is enhanced by the attachment of the connecting rail at the tops of the columns. This construction eliminates a visual obstruction under the table and a knee-knocking experience for the dinners.
