Hepplewhite Sideboard

Sideboards were introduced into the American furniture inventory about 1785 and continued in popularity until 1840. Long sideboards as the one pictured were the most common type and were made in Hepplewhite, Sheraton and Empire styles. Other types include the short or New England sideboard and the tall hunt board common south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Door and drawer arrangements are variable.
