	Chimney Cupboard (Previous | Next)   Chimney cupboards were utility cupboards common throughout the colonies. Their name derives either from the tall slender shape of the case or the tradition that they were made to fill small spaces next to chimneys. Either way only one of the chimney cupboards I have made is standing next to a chimney. Surviving originals are usually pine with a much-weathered painted finish befitting a hard life. All BWJ woods and finishes are, of course, available.
