Benchmade Furniture - About ordering

Ordering, Shipping and Receiving

We make a great effort at the Birnam Wood Joinery to ensure customer satisfaction. Typically, a customer request will be received and items in our photo file or illustrations found in books and magazines will be offered as samples, provided the customer has not done this already. This is followed by an exchange of design sketches, specifications and samples until both parties are satisfied. These data are set into a purchase order specifying all of the particular's and production schedule.

Orders become active five days after the 50% deposit is received. The balance is due before the order can be shipped. Delivery may be possible from Charles Town, WV and the charge comparable to common carriers. If shipped by common carrier, we will pack the piece using plywood and two-by-four construction with peanut packing or bubble wrap securing the piece inside. The piece will be insured for the purchase price and shipping will be charged COD. Upon delivery the driver is only obligated to place the crate on the ground, so you must supply the muscle to get it unpacked and in the house. Note damage to the crate, notify the driver; annotate the bill of lading. Unpack it quickly and inspect it carefully for shipping damage. If the piece is damaged contact the carrier immediately and file a claim. This is your responsibility.

Returns are to be made with the concurrence of The Birnam Wood Joinery only. Packing and shipping charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. There will be a 20% restocking fee. Custom finishes or pieces otherwise built to customer's specifications are not returnable.
